Oct 13, 2021

KADUNA, NIGERIA -

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly attacked St. Albert the Great Institute of Philosophy/Christ the King Major Seminary situated at Fayit community, Kagoma Chiefdom in the Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack, according to reports, led to the abduction of an unspecified number of students in the Seminary owned by the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan.

It was learnt that the incident occurred on Monday night at about 8 pm when the armed men invaded the school premises, shooting sporadically before whisking the victims away.

Other sources disclosed that the gunmen came in their numbers with sophisticated weapons, surrounded the premises of the seminary and overpowered the students.

A recorded audio message by one of the victims, who narrowly escaped, indicated they had just finished evening prayers when the gunmen attacked, shooting sporadically.

“They then captured about six students who were still in the church,” the male voice in the audio recording said.

When contacted, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige said he was yet to receive the report.

The PPRO told newsmen that he “will contact the area command and get back.”
