Use your talents to bear witness for Christ, Bishop Onaga tells Catholic Entertainers

The Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga on Friday, October 9, 2021 charged Members of the Catholic Artistes and Entertainers Association of Nigeria (CAEAN) to discover and use their individual talents to bear witness to God and spread the Gospel.

Bishop Onaga gave the charge during his homily at the opening Mass of CAEAN’s 20th Anniversary and National Convention at the Holy Ghost Catholic Cathedral, Enugu.

The Prelate who was represented by the Enugu Diocesan Director of Communications, Very Rev. Fr. Benjamin Achi stressed that the Catholic entertainers need to look inwards to see that God has deposited numerous talents in them, which is already a sign of God's grace made available to them, hence they need not to be afraid to make good use of them.

Fr. Achi, who is the Enugu CAEAN Chaplain said, "God wants us to be the best of what we are."

He noted that although God has blessed members of CAEAN with talents, some still find it difficult to showcase their gifts and endowment to the glory of God, while assuring that any CAEAN members that are ready to explore and utilitize their various talents will attract more blessings from God.

The opening Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated by the National Director of Social Communications and National CAEAN Chaplain, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Mike Nsikak Umoh and was attended by members of CAEAN across Nigeria, led by her National President, Dr Charles Okwuowulu, the National President of Catholic Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN), Mr Patrick Osu, and his Deputy, amongst others.
